Materials I plan to use for the pauldrons:

Dark brown material for base and 'metal'.
Orangey material for horse head
Heat n' Bond fabric glue sheets
Posterboard for stiffness.

Using 'Heat n' Bond' again to make the material stiff before drawing and cutting.

Then, folding the edges of the material over on a piece of posterboard and ironed on.

This process must be done with great care to get the edges even and keep fingers from being burned.

The posterboard enforced piece is painted with silver fabric paint.

I am waiting until all my pieces are done before weathing any of it.

After working with the material, I wasn't happy with the look.
