Her attempts to help him are discouraged by her partner who disapproves of his negative influence on her. Meanwhile the crew of the Enterprise is sent to pick up the smuggled remains of a Romulin science station and ordered to discover what secret weapon the Romulins are creating with the crystal Quarum from Toras. When the situation with the Romulins becomes too much for Toras to handle, they seek Federation assistance, at which time, Movarin learns that she is not fully Vulcan, but is now entering into the Betazoid "Awakening" and has begun to sense the feelings and thoughts of others. Without the help of Councilor Troi and Data, she might not psycologically survive.

Author's Note:
The final book of this triligy takes a look into what happened when Lore was created and how the parental flaws of his childhood were as magnified in his psyche as his physical strength were in his body, and his mental capacities were in his neural net. Data struggles to decide weather or not to forgive his brother. Though both his logic and his newly found emotions tell him it would be futile, there is something compelling him anyway. In his own attempt to forgive his father, Lore asks Movarin to help him create a new android. During the early stages of Capella's life the three schedule a secret meeting with Data on a Federation Space Station. Tragedy ensues as a group of android-fearing hate-mongers riot to stop the new family from starting a race. This book ends back on Toras, where the crystal, Quarum may hold the secret to saving the life of a beloved member of this new family.
